Ask Iris, PodAnalyst's AI analyst, questions about your show in plain English. It reads your listener, retention, review and keyword data before answering.

What Iris is

Iris is PodAnalyst's AI analyst. The difference between Iris and a general chatbot is grounding: before answering, it looks up your actual numbers — your episodes, retention, reviews, chart positions, and tracked keywords — and answers from those. You don't have to paste anything in, and it won't invent figures.

Ask it "how did last week compare to the week before?" and it will go and find out.

Where to find it

  • The Ask Iris sidebar — a panel on the right of the Radar, Keywords, Charts, Reviews, and Episodes pages, so it's always one question away while you're reading.
  • The floating chat button — bottom corner of every app page, so it's reachable from anywhere.
  • Recently asked — the sidebar lists your past conversations so you can pick one back up instead of starting over.
  • Dig into this — on any Radar card, opens the chat with that finding already loaded.

What Iris can look up

Iris has direct access to your show's data, including:

  • Show-level metrics over any period, by platform
  • Individual episodes — performance and full retention curves
  • Episode transcripts, when your show has them
  • Your tracked keywords and their Apple Podcasts rankings
  • Chart positions and how they've moved
  • Listener reviews
  • Best-practice articles from our library, which it will cite when relevant

Because it works from your data, the more specific you are, the more it can do. "Why did episode 42 drop off at the 30-minute mark?" gets a better answer than "how's my show doing?"

Suggested questions

The sidebar offers starting points grouped by theme — Overview, Retention, Topics, Reviews, and a few bigger-picture asks. Click one to send it. They're there to show you what's possible, not to limit you.

Getting good answers

  • Ask follow-ups. Iris remembers the conversation, so "why?" and "show me the month before" work.
  • Name the period. "Last 60 days" gets a different answer than "all time."
  • Ask it to compare. "Apple vs Spotify vs YouTube for the last three episodes" is exactly the kind of question it's built for.
  • Push back. If an answer doesn't match what you're seeing, say so — it'll re-check.

Every answer ends with suggested follow-ups, so you're never left staring at a blank prompt.

Availability

Chat requires a fully onboarded podcast — Iris needs your data before it can talk about it. If yours isn't connected yet, you'll see "You need to finish onboarding your podcast before chat is enabled." Start with Connecting your data.
