MCP connection
Connect your show to Claude or ChatGPT and ask PodAnalyst's questions from your own assistant.
What this is for
Ask Iris lives inside PodAnalyst. If you already work in Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect your show to that assistant instead — same data, same questions, in the tool you already have open.
This is a one-time setup that takes about a minute. You don't need to paste any data in, and you don't need a technical background.
Reach it from your avatar menu (top right) → MCP Connection.
Choosing your assistant
The intro page offers Claude and ChatGPT. Pick whichever you already use — there's no functional difference in what you get, and you can switch later.
Connecting Claude
- Click Copy your connection link. The link is
https://mcp.podanalyst.com/. - In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the link and save.
Then go back to the PodAnalyst tab and use the Ask Claude buttons to send your first question straight into Claude.
Connecting ChatGPT
- Click Copy your connection link.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
- Turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create app, paste the link, and select No auth.
- Save.
What you can ask
Both assistants get the same set of grounded questions, grouped by theme:
- Overview — how the show is performing overall
- Retention — where listeners drop off, and why
- Topics — what themes are landing with your audience
- Reviews — what listeners are saying, and which reviews are worth quoting
- The bigger asks — the open-ended strategy questions
The intro page lists concrete examples you can click — things like "Pull my most quotable positive reviews for promo" and "Summarize the themes in my recent reviews" — which is a good way to see what the connection can do before you think up your own.
Things worth knowing
- One show at a time. The connection is tied to the show you opened it from. If you track several podcasts, connect each one separately.
- It answers from your data. Like Iris, the assistant looks up your real numbers rather than guessing. If your data hasn't finished connecting, answers will be limited.
- Your show stays scoped. The connection is specific to your podcast, so questions about other shows won't return anything.
- It's the same analyst. This is the same data Iris uses in the app — see Ask Iris.
