Keywords
Track where your show ranks in Apple Podcasts search for the terms that matter to you.
What this page is for
Most new listeners find a podcast by searching Apple Podcasts. Keywords shows you where your show actually ranks for the terms you care about — and whether that's improving.
Reach it from Explore → Keywords in the top nav.
What a keyword is tracking
For each keyword you track, PodAnalyst records your show's rank in Apple Podcasts search — position 1 is the top result — and checks it on a recurring schedule. Over time that builds a rank history, which is where the real signal is.
A single rank is a snapshot. The movement is the story.
All Tracked vs Favorites
The page has two views, toggled at the top:
- All Tracked — every keyword your account monitors. This is your full picture, and it's shared across the team.
- My Favorites — a shortlist of the keywords you personally watch most. Favorites are per-person, so each team member can curate their own.
Star any keyword to add it to your favorites.
Reading the table
Each row gives you the keyword itself, its Rank, and how that rank has moved. Sort by either column to find your wins and your problems fast.
The chart above the table plots Rank over time for the keywords you've selected — a rising line means climbing, which is what you want. Because rank is a position rather than a quantity, the chart is inverted by instinct: closer to the top is better.
Tracking a new keyword
Type into Search keywords to look up how your show currently ranks for a term. If it's one you want to monitor, hit Track and it's added to your list — and starts building history from today.
Good keywords to track:
- The obvious ones — your show's name, your own name, your main topic.
- What you want to rank for — the search a new listener would type to find a show like yours.
- Your competitors' territory — terms where you'd like to displace another show. See Competition.
Rank history starts when you track
PodAnalyst can't show you history for a keyword before you started tracking it. The sooner you add a keyword, the sooner you'll have a trend to read. Add a handful on day one rather than tracking them one at a time later.
