Charts

Where your podcast appears across Apple Podcasts charts, worldwide.

What this page is for

Charting in Apple Podcasts is one of the few things in podcasting that still drives a genuine discovery bump — appearing in a category chart puts you in front of people who weren't looking for you.

Charts shows you every chart your show currently appears in, where it sits in each one, and how that's changed.

Reach it from Explore → Charts in the top nav.

The summary tiles

Across the top:

  • Appearances — how many charts your show is currently placed in.
  • Countries — how many countries you're charting in.
  • Categories — how many distinct categories you appear under.
  • Best Rank — your strongest position anywhere in the world. This is the number to celebrate.

The table

Below the tiles is a row-per-chart breakdown:

column what it means
Country The country's chart you're in.
Category The category within that country — Overall, or a genre like Comedy or Business.
Rank Your current position. Lower is better; 1 is the top of the chart.
Change How your rank has moved recently. Positive movement means climbing.

Sort by rank to find where you're strongest, or by change to find where you're gaining fastest.

Reading it well

  • Charting in a small country is still charting. A top-10 placement in a country with a smaller podcast market can be far easier to reach, and it's a real achievement worth telling listeners about. It's also a legitimate route into a larger chart.
  • Category charts are where most shows can realistically compete. The overall chart is dominated by a handful of enormous shows. Your genre chart is where you can win.
  • A rank change of a few places is noise. Chart positions jitter daily. Look at the direction over a week or more before drawing conclusions.
  • Correlate with releases. A new episode often produces a short-lived chart bump. If you see one, that's the pattern to lean into.

Getting there from here

  • Ask Iris which charts are moving and why. She can line a chart climb up against your release dates.
  • Check your search visibility — charting and search ranking are different doors into the same room. See Keywords.
